Topical HR & Payroll Issues

Find out more about some topical HR and Payroll issues and how they are handled within TeamSpirit by clicking on the appropriate link below.

  • New Auto-Enrolment Functionality Added to Bond Teamspirit Human Resources Software

The introduction of auto-enrolment this year means that employers must enrol all employees who meet the specified age and income requirements onto a qualifying workplace pension scheme (QWPS), unless the employee chooses to opt-out. The date for when this must take place will vary according to the number of employees within an organisation.

  • RTI Functionality

Bond Teamspirit, the provider of modular yet fully integrated HR and Payroll software has been working closely with HMRC on the development of the RTI functionality since April 2012 and throughout the pilot scheme. We have successfully helped two clients onto the pilot who have both had an extremely smooth transition to the real time submission.

  • Health & Safety

Health and Safety law applies to employers, full or part time employees, apprentices, volunteers, seasonal staff and home workers alike. Health and Safety is about preventing people being harmed by work or becoming ill through work. This is so important that the law now states that we must not put ourselves, other workers or the public in danger.

  • Learning & Development

Employers are finding it increasingly difficult to employ staff with the correct qualifications and skills for a chosen job. It is therefore important that employers think about retaining staff through benefits, career progression and training opportunities, all of which should be considered as part of an employer's retention strategy.

  • Managing Absence/Attendance with Absence Recording Software

Tackling absence remains one of the most difficult and costly problems for UK businesses to overcome.

  • Right to Work

In an attempt to minimise the number of people working illegally in the UK a system has been put in place where employers are asked to request suitable documentation to prove the identity of potential employees. This system requests that all prospective employees are asked to provide a document or a combination of documents from two lists.

  • Statistical Analysis

A vital element for HR Departments today is the ability to analyse and report on information relating to employees by department, division, location and company. For this purpose an HR system that gives the facility to input and recall information regarding individuals, or groups of employees, personal details or employment is essential.
