Operating Environment
Read about the different operating environments in which our TeamSpirit human resources software can be deployed.
PC Operation
Anchor Point:PC OperationIn it's simplest form TeamSpirit Human Resource software can be installed on a standalone PC. This may be desirable for smaller users, or those users requiring a very secure installation where all the HR data is held locally on the PC.
This approach can be useful if, for example, you are installing only one of the TeamSpirit HR software modules, e.g. Time and Attendance, at several locations that do not require access to the main TeamSpirit HR database. Data can be exchanged between TeamSpirit's HR database software by using its standard import/export tools.
Local Area Network (LAN) Operation
Anchor Point:Local Area Network (LAN) OperationThis is the most popular way of using TeamSpirit HR software with the programs and data held on a networked application server. PC workstations can access your TeamSpirit HR Software via the network, and have shared access to the software and its data files.
This allows you to have access to each of the TeamSpirit's HR software modules including Payroll, Time and Attendance, P11D Personnel and Recruitment software throughout your organisation, with access being controlled both by your own network security and TeamSpirit's own flexible security controls. This allows you to control a user's access to TeamSpirit by setting up a security profile at division and/or department level.
TeamSpirit HR Software on Wide Area Network (WAN)
Anchor Point:TeamSpirit HR Software on Wide Area Network (WAN) OperationFor larger, and multi-site organisations the LAN approach may not be sufficient for access to each of the TeamSpirit HR and Payroll software, since workstation access may be required from several remote locations. To provide this type of access requires a Wide Area Network (WAN) to be in place.
This can be achieved by using Microsoft Terminal Services, or Citrix MetaFrame to give PC's remote from the application server access to the TeamSpirit HR software system. The same flexible security as for LAN operation applies. The speed and performance of TeamSpirit in this environment has been proven by many successful installations.
Web-based Operation
Anchor Point:Web-based OperationFor the ultimate in remote access you can use TeamSpirit Human Resource Software through a web-browser interface. This means that using your own corporate intranet, or the Internet, you can give remote or casual users access to the TeamSpirit HR database system in a very controlled manner.
Web access to TeamSpirit software is controlled by its own security database, and a user can only gain access to TeamSpirit data after these checks have been completed. Even then access to the web user can be constrained to a view-only operation.
